This sub-sector of industry integrates sanitary ware producers' correspondent to subclass 26220 of CAE Rev.2.

In our country, nowadays, there are nine companies producers of sanitary ware, located geographically in the districts of Aveiro (3), Coimbra(2), Porto (1), Viseu (1), Leiria (1) and Lisbon. The companies located in districts of Aveiro, Leiria and Porto represent more than three quarters of the national production of sanitary products.

Four of the existent companies are certified through NP EN ISO 9000 and represent 70% of the global production.

From the technological sight, the sanitary Portuguese companies have been investing in the new technologies being close to European average in this issue.

On a competition level, our most important competitors are Britain, Spain and France.
