This is the mission of the Portuguese Industry of Construction Ceramics – Innovation and Tradition brought together in harmonious association – whether in contemporary architecture, recuperation of buildings or restoration of constructions of immense historical importance.

The Portuguese Industry of Construction Ceramics employs approximately 4500 workers in 150 companies through the country. Every year it produces around 4.800.000 tonnes of material ( 800.000 tiles and 4.000.000 bricks) , in total sales amounting to 210 million euros.

The Characterization of the subsector of Structural Ceramics, the Products (Roofing tiles, Bricks, Hollow floor blocks and Various) and the Producing Companies constitute this Structural Ceramic Directory 2005.

Available in Portuguese and English, this Directory presents the Portuguese companies manufacturing of Walls and floor tiles and sanitaryware, presents different products made in Portugal, from hand painted tiles to most recent and innovating solutions in terms of design and new technologies.

Portuguese ceramic industry is very traditional, but has successfully managed to adapt to the new trends of the market and has been able to satisfy the more demanding customers, with extremely good quality and prestige.
