Sanitana was founded in 1979, in Anadia ( Portugal). Since 1981, the company has been present in the ceramic bathroom fittings market.
Since the company´s beginnings, sanitana has been a leader in bathroom fitting design and production in Portugal, importing technology and designs from other European countries.
Towards the end of the 1980´s, and in response to the needs of its clients, Sanitana decided to broaden its production portfolio: 1987 saw the constrution of a toilet seat factory, which was followed by an acrylic products factiry in 1988
The company is a pioneer in both of these products within the Portuguese sector. The product range was completed in 1990 with the construction of a kitchen sink factory. Since then, they have maintained the responsibility that comes with the leadership of these sectors, not only in Portugal, but also throughout the world.
Since 1999, Sanitana has formed part of the world´s second largest bathroom fittings company and is active in various segments of the bathroom fittings market. Sanitana has maintained its total independence and its responsability towards its clients, bands and sales regions.
